No. 6 -- Word Perfect
Sunday, June 22, 2008
Words have amazing power. They can start a world war yet heal a relationship. Just as we have to confront "the enemy within" in order to have healthy relationship, we must deal with the use and misuse of words. Fully committed disciples know the power of words and surrender their tongues to Him! Speaker: Pastor Dave Engbrecht
Nappanee Missionary Church, Nappanee, Indiana, is a community of believers focused on our mission of "making fully committed disciples!" We believe that God's "fingerprints" are all over this work. As we have been blessed with 26 consecutive years of growth under Senior Pastor Dave Engbrecht's leadership, we are careful to say it's not because of our giftedness but rather because of God's faithfulness. NMC is a vibrant local church, still growing beyond its current average weekly worship attendance of over 2,800, in a city of 6,600 residents. With three Sunday morning worship services in the main worship center, and one (soon expanding to two) in-house video venue(s) called The Connection, as one national leader said, "NMC is the miracle in the corn field." Yes, if God can do it here He can do it anywhere!
Through the years God has enabled us to equip and send many men and women into full time vocational Christian ministry. In addition, nearly ten percent of the NMC congregation participates in a short-term international missions experience each year. Domestic outreaches range from student ministries involved in evangelistic missions in major urban areas, to a satellite congregation, CityChurch, which ministers to a large mobile home community and the rental housing market in our own city. A new video venue in Topeka, Indiana, a town of 1,200 located some 35 miles from the home campus, presently averages nearly 200 in weekly worship attendance. With a God-inspired, expanding vision for ministry on local, regional, national and global levels, NMC also enjoys important strategic partnerships with several missions entities as well as with a number of other local churches.
At NMC we enthusiastically believe that "our greatest days are just ahead!"
