Worry-Free Living, Part 1
Sunday, July 13, 2008
"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body more than raiment?" Matthew 6:25
Worry reveals a lack of trust — failure to trust the One Who controls all things, failure to trust the God Who provides. Worry reveals a lack of contentment. Paul learned to be content whether he had much or but a little. The Apostle was not trusting in uncertain riches but in the sovereign God Whom he said would supply all your needs.
Worry reveals you are thinking like the world and not like men and women of faith. Worry is a sin. Listen for biblical instruction on overcoming worry, specifically in relation to personal finances.
Welcome to the Baptist Bible Hour! Motivated by a desire for God's glory, we exist to call men and women back to the beauty and sufficiency of the Bible. As God's perfect message to every man, woman, and child, this book stands alone in its majesty throughout history and in its contemporary relevancy.
For many people, even Christians, there is a persistent and tragic disconnect between the narrative and instruction that they see in the Bible, and the problems, challenges, and opportunities that they experience in their daily lives. It is our purpose to bridge this great divide with teaching that has depth and gravity, but is at the same time accessible and relatable. To this end, for over 50 years the Baptist Bible Hour has been broadcasting the Word of God, with a particular emphasis on the sovereignty of God in personal salvation and in every detail of life.
