Now in his 17th year as host of WAVA Radio's The Don Kroah Show, Don came to the Washington, DC area in October, 1997 after 34 years of fulltime pastoral ministry in New England. During those years he also worked as a radio news anchor, reporter, political commentator and talk show host in general-market radio there.
An alumnus of Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, he also studied philosophy & psychology at the University of Southern Maine, Portland, Maine and Journalism at the College of Communications And The Arts at Regent University's Washington, DC Campus. On October 7, 2013 Don also received an earned Doctor of Ministry Degree from Calvary Christian College in Waldorf, MD.
While at WAVA, Don has become a strong on-air voice on behalf of the persecuted church, as the show has been instrumental in mobilizing listeners to become directly involved helping fellow-Christians who are suffering for their faith in countries around the world.
In 2006 WAVA's parent company, Salem Communications, awarded Don the coveted Andy Anderson Award as Best Local Talk Host of The Year and through the years since he has won several honors at the Annual Awards Programs of the Virginia Association of Broadcasters:
